Eraly tips: make a better year guess
Read the event, place it in an era, then narrow the year. Three recorded guesses show what happened when we got the exact year, missed by two years, and missed by 32.

Read the milestone
Look at what the prompt asks: an invention, a publication, a disaster or a political event. The year a book was published can differ from the period of its story. A product announcement can differ from its release. Decide which milestone you are dating before entering a number.
Find an era you know
Use a familiar person, war, movement or technology as an anchor. For a Cold War event, start with the twentieth century and narrow the decade. For a novel, think about the author’s working period. An era estimate gives you somewhere to start when the precise date will not come to mind.
Commit before time runs out
Choose the most defensible year in your range and submit it while time remains. There is one guess per event, so you cannot use a low-scoring answer as a probe and retry the same question. Use the revealed year to improve your timeline for later rounds.
Three guesses, three real results

Cuban Missile Crisis+85 · Chronicler
- Our guess
- 1960
- Game answer
- 1962
- Difference
- 2 years
The 1960 guess identified the right decade but missed the event by two years. The game awarded 85 points. For a similar question, use the Cold War setting to establish a range, then recall the particular crisis rather than treating the decade alone as the answer.

Chernobyl disaster+100 · Timekeeper
- Our guess
- 1986
- Game answer
- 1986
- Difference
- Exact
Entering 1986 matched the revealed year and earned 100 points. The useful distinction is the event itself: the prompt asked when the disaster happened. A remembered date for a related construction project, evacuation or later documentary would answer a different question.

Les Misérables publication+60 · Historian
- Our guess
- 1830
- Game answer
- 1862
- Difference
- 32 years
Our 1830 guess was in the right century but 32 years early; the game awarded 60 points. Here the word “published” matters. Dating a novel’s setting or a historical event you associate with it is not the same as dating its publication. Recheck that distinction before submitting.

What these scores tell you
These results explain three particular guesses. They do not establish a universal rule such as “two years off always means 85 points” or “32 years off always means 60”. The provider allows different error margins for events of different ages.
In this test, the three answers added up to 245 points: 85 + 100 + 60. We did not complete the other four events as part of this guide. The full seven-event maximum is 700, so this is a partial-run example, not a final score.
The year shown beside the traveller describes progress through the game’s timeline. When reviewing a guess, compare Your Guess with Answer in the result panel; do not use the background timeline label as the event date.

Before pressing GO, ask yourself: what milestone is this, which era contains it, and which year in that range can I justify? After the reveal, remember the connection between the event and its date. Daily repeats the day’s journey; the provider offers extra journeys through paid Infinite time-travel.
